Up Top Scaffolding recently completed a complex scaffolding installation for a major structural and roofing project in Sherborne, Dorset.
The project required several scaffold systems working together to protect the property, provide safe internal access and support the building while extensive structural work was carried out.
A temporary roof scaffold was installed over the property to provide full weather protection throughout the roofing works. Inside the building, an internal birdcage scaffold created a secure and stable working platform for contractors completing structural and roof-level works.
A purpose-built shoring scaffold was also erected to support the external walls and roof rafters, helping maintain the stability of the structure during this critical stage of the project.
Due to the scale and structural nature of the works, every part of the scaffold required careful planning and coordination.
The temporary roof structure was erected to protect the exposed building from rain and changing weather conditions, allowing roofing and structural work to continue with fewer weather-related interruptions.
An internal birdcage scaffold provided contractors with a fully boarded working platform beneath the roof structure. This created safe and practical access across the internal area rather than relying on individual towers or restricted access points.
The shoring scaffold was positioned to support the external walls and roof rafters throughout the structural phase. The system was designed around the building and the planned construction sequence, providing the stability required while sections of the property were repaired or altered.
